Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Partners With GIABORGHINI to Launch Collection 2 of Their Shoe Line

Preview the new line featuring bold, minimalist footwear.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and GIABORGHINI are together again. The model and Founder and CCO of Rose Inc. and the Italian footwear brand have joined forces to release a second collection of shoes designed for the modern woman. Featuring seven new fall styles that encapsulate a classic, minimalistic feel with an edgy twist, GIA/RHW Collection 2 will release on September 22 as an exclusive Mytheresa capsule, and the main collection as pre-order on FRWD.

At the forefront, the line sets out to spotlight female empowerment. Huntington-Whiteley’s own career has taken her from modeling for Victoria’s Secret to producing her own beauty line to motherhood, a trajectory that’s proved instrumental in her partnership with Barbara Borghini, founder of GIABORGHINI. “Barbara and I both center female empowerment in our work,” says Huntington-Whiteley, “and we were inspired to continue our partnership with a focus on bringing together a female-led team to create a beautiful product for a global community of women.”

Hoping to convey women “owning their power,” the shoes are designed for the woman who is “confident, daring, feminine; someone who is in tune with fashion trends yet has her own point of view and personal style,” Huntington-Whiteley explains. And that sentiment comes across in the collection’s ’90s inspired campaign which stars Huntington-Whiteley, too. “90s campaigns and models were so effortless and paired back, yet they channeled so much strength and confidence,” she says.

 

With an edgy, urban feel in mind, the collection combines minimalist silhouettes with pops of bright colors, something that was important to differentiate it from the first collection. “Collection 1 had an organic natural feel to the styles and color palette whereas Collection 2 is bolder and a bit more dramatic in terms of silhouettes and color,” Huntington-Whiteley says, adding that it is made to represent “the more of the daring, playful side of my personal style.” Though the styles were made to feel unique, it was also important for the model to stay true to core details such as “the wedged heel, Radical wood, the square toe.” Another highlight is the premium materials used, like eco-leather, which Huntington-Whiteley says allows for “a softer, sportier feel to fit the leg beautifully like a second skin.” The use of rubberized eco-leather not only provides maximum comfort but is locally sourced and developed in Italy which was top-of-mind for Borghini in order to “support local businesses impacted by the pandemic and take steps to minimize their environmental footprint,” says Huntington-Whiteley.

Shoppers will also find styles and colors exclusive to Mytheresa. For this part of the line, Huntington-Whiteley and Borghini focused on luxury-loving customers to create something for the woman that is “sophisticated and refined, a fashion-forward consumer with timeless dressing in mind.”
