Even With Nowhere to Go, Escape With a Pair of Springy Heels

By: Alexis Bennett

'After being cooped up inside for nearly a year, those house shoes and slippers that I once cherished are starting to take a backseat to designer high heels.
Still, with nowhere to go, I’m finding pure joy in the act of slipping my toes into a stiletto, even if it’s just to teeter back and forth from my kitchen to the living room. Not just any old high heel, of course. As of late, I’ve taken all the funds that would have gone to taxi rides and meals out and have fully splurged on an all-star roster of investment heels—like Amina Muaddi’s signature curved stilettos. Up next on my wish list are Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s fanciful collaboration with Gia Couture and Stella McCartney’s sky-high platform heels.
Now that I think about it, I guess I’ve been subconsciously preparing for all of my post-quarantine revenge outfits. Nothing says I’m back and better than ever than a great pair of designer high heels. Most fashion houses seem to be on the same page, anchoring outfits with attention-grabbing heels, from Jacquemus’s architectural sandals to Prada’s split sole designs. And who could forget the chunky heels in Valentino’s spring couture show?
Ahead, you’ll find 24 exquisite pairs of designer high heels to help you stride into this next era.'
